District Sales Manager-North East

Job Description

*****Sales territory to consist of the states of ME, MA, RI, CT, NY, NJ, MD and PA*****

Responsible for sales of all products within in a defined sales territory incorporating sales skills, product training, customer calls, and regional trade shows etc. Coordinates with team members to plan and organize customer sales calls and trainings to optimize profit and exceed sales forecast, while managing corporate financial objectives. This position requires broad knowledge of the low voltage and garage door industries with extensive experience in selling though channel partners and direct. Previous experience in security, access control, garage door, industries preferred.


  • Exceed sales expectations through consistent monthly performance
  • High energy, self-starter, dedicated to building a territory through relationship selling without daily supervision
  • Quarterback for all sales activities within the District- Develop Leads, Prospects, Champions, Dealer Locator, etc.
  • Effectively service existing “Champion” accounts and establish new accounts “Prospects” by smart planning and organizing of daily work schedule
  • Focused on developing and executing a product specific KARE (K) strategy in designated “Trade Areas” utilizing all resources (Customer Service, RSM, Director of Pro Sales, Marketing etc.)
  • In depth industry knowledge of dealer – distributor - competitor relationships and buying patterns
  • Product expert on all products
  • Primary lead for distribution activities, show support
  • Detailed technical knowledge on both Linear Pro Access and competitive product and keeps current with industry news and trends
  • Increase sales volume and product mix to new and existing accounts
  • Attend Industry, Association and Customer trade shows
  • Maintains records and makes reports on all phases of activities and performs other tasks as required
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers, the general public and Linear Corporate office
  • Use proper company forms and procedures and submit on complete and on time for all administrative functions.

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and sales multipliers from company price sheets
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of successful sales experience are highly preferred
  • High personal and professional integrity in work and social interactions    


  • Work from home office with extensive (80%) travel
